A Pulse investigation revealing how GP-led health centres are receiving vastly higher levels of funding than traditional practices has helped a Pulse reporter win a major journalism award.

Gareth Iacobucci, who has worked as a reporter at Pulse for two years, won New Business News Journalist of the Year at the annual Periodical Training Council awards.

The judges praised his impressive investigative work, including the funding investigation in July which showed that funding per patient at GP-led health centres is almost three times as high on average, and in some cases as much as seven times as high, as at GMS practices.

Gareth was also placed on a final shortlist of four for the overall title of New Journalist of the Year, which covered all business and consumer titles.
