AN ARTIST’S impression of how a long-awaited new Flintshire health centre could look when it is built has been unveiled.

Healthcare and property specialists HPC Wales have released the image as part of a consultation into plans for a state-of-the-art new medical centre in Buckley.

The site for the new centre was approved last year, after months of wrangling, in a crunch meeting between Flintshire Local Health Board officials and town council members.

It will be housed on the site of the former Belmont Special School, the pupils of which have been moved to a new, purpose-built school in Flint.

The plan is to relocate staff from the Marches, Roseneath and the Bradleys medical practices to the new centre, along with other community health services.

HPC Wales will hold a public open day, to give residents the chance to find out more about the proposals, on Wednesday, September 16.

The event will run from 9am until 8pm and will be held at Buckley Cross Community Centre.
